CHARD NEWS: Bingo night success for charity
A BINGO night held at Combe St Nicholas village hall near Chard raised an amazing £635 for local charities St Margaret’s Somerset Hospice and the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.
The sold-out event organised by the Chard’s Prudence and Industry Masonic Lodge was a huge success and proved a lot of fun.
Master of the Lodge, John Nicholls said: “I would like to thank all the businesses and individuals who contributed so generously with some amazing raffle prizes, my helpers and everyone who came along on the night.
“I must also thank our incredibly good bingo caller, Marie Mountstephens, who patiently explained the game to those who had never played before and also, her family who helped throughout the evening. At times it was quite intense!
“There was a great atmosphere all evening, it really was fun - and of course, the added bonus was raising a lot of money for such worthy local causes.”
