CHARD NEWS: Street name request in memory of Frank Botterell
A REQUEST has been made to name a future street or road in Chard in memory of somebody who was instrumental in developing youth club facilities in the town.
Frank Botterell died in September aged 87 and will be well-remembered in Chard for his services to youth provision.
Two members of the public spoke at a recent meeting of Chard Town Council in which they said they felt a street name would be a fitting memorial to Mr Botterell.
On news of his death last September one person said: “Frank was a great and kind person who helped me and many young people in the 1980s through Chard Youth Club and Somerset Association of Boys Clubs.
“He did so much for me and my friends in making so many different activities available to us. Frank’s wisdom and friendship will always be in my memories.”
