YOUTH RUGBY: Resounding win for Holyrood’s new Year Seven team
THE new Holyrood Academy’s Year Seven boys rugby squad in Chard got off to a flying start to the season with a resounding 40pts-nil over Sherborne’s Gryphon School.
Standout players for the day were captain William Lees, William Reid and Harvi Gardiner with two tries apiece, and Archie Spokes.
Miller Broom was awarded man of the match for his work rate and tackling.
Head of Holyrood rugby, Simon Jenkins, said: “In my four years at Holyrood this is probably the most promising Year Seven group we have ever had.
“All of them play at Chard RFC which helps massively with their understanding and organisation of the game. I am very much looking forward to their season!”
